The VALDUNES INDUSTRIES laboratory, founded in 2012, is home to the test sample cutting and machining tools, as well as the mechanical testing machines and micrographic analysis equipment used for steel.
It enables us to check that each batch meets the highly precise and varied requirements of our clients, as well as those of standards and regulations.
The complete process MTC.
VALDUNES INDUSTRIES has originated technological advances like high-speed wheels, which began in the late 1970s on the French TGV® trains, the heavy-load wheels introduced in Mauritania and Northern Canada in the 1990s, and the railway speed record achieved in 2007.
VALDUNES INDUSTRIES is continually innovating in order to provide clients with safe, effective, high-quality products.
R&D at VALDUNES INDUSTRIES is centred on the:
VALDUNES INDUSTRIES relies on the skills and lengthy experience of its technical teams, as well as on a network of engineering colleges, research centres, and laboratories that make it possible to carry out highly technical projects and studies.
VALDUNES INDUSTRIES is supported by universities in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie region.
VALDUNES INDUSTRIES is a member of the RAILENIUM IRT (Institute of Research in Technology) whose purpose is to gather the railway expertise of the leading French players in tracks and rolling stock together in one place in order to optimise and approve technological solutions. These talents make it possible to define the most suitable product for the client's request, in accordance with normal trade practices and all requirements imposed by standards and regulations.
VALDUNES INDUSTRIES' technical database incorporates the entire history of all its products, so that the right product can be quickly defined.
Product development begins with a digital simulation (finite element analysis) based on a 3D CAD representation of the product. Design adheres to all of the risk management requirements imposed by the ISO 9001 and IRIS standards. The standard tests (qualification tests) are conducted with EN 17025 -accredited laboratories. The plans (drawings), processes, and technical specifications enable the manufacture of the first parts. A rigorous first article inspection (FAI) is then carried out to approve the geometry (3D testing, NDT, etc.), materials (mechanical, metallurgical and non-destructive tests) and joining (shift tests...).
Product design incorporates a RAMS* analysis that leads to a determination of the product life cycle cost (LCC) and adds to feedback.
*RAMS: Reliability, Ability, Maintenability, Safety.
